The existing recreation city centre in Pabianice needed to be reorganised.
A location in a close downtown neighbourhood, next to the river valley was both an advantage and a challange.
Proposed arrangement of sport facilities gives priority to the river valley that offers a great recreation potential. The idea was to preserve natural greenery along the river and minimalise an impact of a built environment.
The design focus was put on the shaded stands located close to the main entry to the sport complex. Proposed architectural solution respones to the scale of a building with a required 1500 seating capacity, changing rooms for players, services for spectators and a VIP room with a separate stand. It offers a visual play between heavy but dynamic concrete columns and light textile canopy suspended over the stands. In that way the architecture resonates with its function and is believed to be well fitted to the green surrounding.
